Welcome to Ihima Elites Initiative

It begins at home, in Ihima.

Where neighbours become family — and giving back to our community is simply a way of life.

Community volunteers meeting and planning an outreach programme
01Who we are

When a community gives back, change takes root.

We are a volunteer-driven Nigerian NGO born in Ihima, Kogi State. Our members pool resources, time and expertise to meet urgent needs — and to build the long-term foundations that lift a whole community.

  • Rooted in the community

Programmes are designed with residents, elders and local leaders — not imposed from outside.

  • Transparent & accountable

Every naira is tracked and reported back to members, donors and partners.

  • Built to last

From skills training to village projects, we invest in what keeps giving long after we leave.

03How we work

From need to lasting change, in four steps.

A simple, transparent process keeps every project accountable to the community it serves.

01

Listen

We sit with residents, elders and local leaders to understand the most urgent, real needs.

02

Plan

Members and partners scope a programme, set a budget and agree clear, measurable goals.

03

Deliver

Volunteers mobilise on the ground — outreach, training and projects delivered hand in hand.

04

Report

We measure the outcome and report back openly to members, donors and the community.

From one outreach to a movement

A promise kept, season after season.

What began as a single village outreach is now a year-round commitment — carried by members at home and across the diaspora, and measured in lives, not headlines.

A child from the Ihima community
When the outreach reached my village, it didn’t feel like charity. It felt like family coming home.

The change, in their own words.

Amina, a community member helped by IEI

The medical outreach reached my mother when we had given up. IEI didn't just treat her — they followed up until she was well.

Blessing, a skills programme graduate

I learned tailoring through their skills programme and now run my own shop. I employ two other young women from my street.

Daniel, a diaspora member

As a member abroad, I can finally give back to my hometown and see exactly where my contribution goes. That trust means everything.
